Lemongrass oil, known for its high concentrations of citral and geraniol and is considered to be one of the best natural pest repellants and antimicrobials. Thyme oil is extremely effective as an insecticide and as an antimicrobial & fungicide. It is especially toxic to spider, broad, & russet mites as well as molds and fungus like powdery mildew & botrytis.
Clove oil contains eugenol, a substance that causes cell lysis in fungal species. Clove oil breaks down the outer membrane of cells, eventually leading to the death of the organism. The eugenol in clove oil is also highly toxic to some insects, killing them within an hour of contact.
